ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) & ADD
ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. This condition can be characterized by inattentiveness, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. These symptoms can differ from one individual to the other. ADHD used to be known as ADD, which stands for Attention Deficit Disorder. ADHD usually manifests in childhood and persists throughout the lifetime. Adults with ADHD may struggle to set and achieve goals, manage their time, or sustain a job. There is no one-fits-all diagnosis for ADHD, as each case is different. The American Psychiatric Association has identified three different types of ADHD with differing symptoms and treatments.
