Pregnancy testing is available at the clinic and can be performed during your visit.

A urine pregnancy test is commonly used for initial evaluation. This test provides a result during the visit and is used to confirm or rule out pregnancy in most cases.

The test is most reliable after a missed period. Testing too early may result in a negative result even if pregnancy is present.

Self-pay pricing for a pregnancy test is $20. Insurance coverage may vary depending on your plan.

When Testing May Be Needed

• missed or delayed period
• symptoms such as nausea, fatigue, or breast tenderness
• light or unusual bleeding, which may be mistaken for a period
• before starting medications or procedures
• when pregnancy needs to be confirmed or excluded

What Happens After The Test

Test results are reviewed during the visit.

• If the result is positive, your provider will discuss next steps and may recommend follow-up care or referral as needed.
• If the result is negative but pregnancy is still possible, repeat testing may be recommended.
• If the result is unclear or does not match your symptoms, a blood test for hCG can be ordered to provide more accurate confirmation.

Factors That May Affect The Result

The accuracy of a pregnancy test depends on several factors.

• testing too early, when hCG levels are still low
• irregular menstrual cycle, making timing less predictable
• diluted urine, for example after drinking large amounts of fluids
• certain medications that may affect hormone levels
